COMMITTEE FOR PRIVATE EDUCATION (CPE)

The Committee for Private Education (CPE) was appointed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Board in October 2016 to carry out its functions and powers relating to private education under the Private Education Act. For details, please refer to https://www.tpgateway.gov.sg/resources/information-for-private-education-institutions-(peis)

FEE PROTECTION SCHEME (FPS)

Under the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS), Trent Global College has an insurance policy in place to ensure that fees paid by students to the college are insured by a CPE-appointed service provider.

The insurance protection serves to protect students’ fees in the event that the private education institution (PEI) is unable to continue operating due to unforeseen circumstances.

In addition, the FPS protects students if the PEI fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgements made against it by the Singapore courts.

To assure students that their fees are well protected, they will receive a softcopy of the FPS certificate through email.

STUDENT CONTRACT

The PEI-Student Contract (“Student Contract”) that Trent Global College adopts is a very important legal document between the college and the student. The contract clearly states the following:

  • Course information, such as course title with modules/ subjects
  • Course commencement and completion dates
  • Examination or assessment dates for each course
  • Name of organisation awarding/conferring the results and certificates
  • Fee collection schedule
  • Fee refund policy
  • All students are required to sign two original sets of the student contract. One set will be given to the student and one set will be kept by the School
  • If any amendment is made which will change the original intent of the student contract, both the student and the School must sign beside the amendment(s) on both sets of the original student contracts
  • All fields must be completed in the student contract. Where it is not applicable, it must be indicated with a ‘not applicable or N/A’
